Jea Gaviña is an interdisciplinary artist and art educator
Jea Gaviña is an interdisciplinary artist from the Philippines. She graduated cum laude with BFA degrees in Visual Communication (2019) and Painting (2022) from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She enjoys exploring different mediums and techniques to create art that navigates girlhood and the quest for self-identity and individuality through the complexities of commodity consumption (and everything in between).
Jea is a Freelance Illustrator for Canva, where she has produced over 1,800 diverse illustrations for the Canva Graphics Library since 2020. She is also an Art Educator at KIT101 Art School, where she shares her knowledge and passion for art with both children and adults. Previously, she worked as the Creatives Committee Head for the UP Music Circle, a university-based music organization from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She is the co-founder of Elev8 Me L8r, a small collective of independent musicians from Metro Manila.
When she's not creating visual art, she writes songs about yearning and makes fuzzy guitar music with her band, Bowling Night.
